Québec City

Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage City, Québec City is the only fortified city in North America. Québec is alive with Joie de vivre and romantic appeal that confer a truly European flavour on this French-speaking metropolitan area. Québec City also provides all the comforts and conveniences one would expect of a modern American city. Québec City is strategically located in the densely populated Northeast putting it within easy reach of major centres of business and research. By plane it is a mere hour and half from New York City, Boston, and Toronto, and Montreal is only 40 minutes away. Quebec City has direct flights from various cities in the United States and Europe.

Québec City offers a bewildering array of cultural events and attractions as art galleries and antique shops abound. Visitors can explore the many sites and attractions the city has to offer including the following:

  • The fortification surrounding the old town
  • The Citadel, an actual working army base where visitors can attend the Changing of the Guard
  • Battefields Parks, also known as the Plains of Abraham, where the French and English fought an historic battle
  • Cirque du Soleil
  • Festival d’été de Québec (Summer Song Festival)
  • Le Moulin à image
  • The city stunning variety of old churches
  • The 19 museum
  • City tours and walking tours of Old Québec
  • Cruises on St-Lawrence River
  • Wildlife excursion, whale watching, the howling of the wolves, fishing and white water rafting
  • Wendake Village, a native village of the Huron Nation that occupied the area when Jacques Cartier first came to Québec in 1534.
