Conference Hotel
The conference will be held at the San Francisco Marriott Hotel at 55 Fourth Street in downtown San Francisco. This spectacular hotel is located just steps away from Union Square, the Moscone Center, and the world-famous San Francisco Powell Street cable car line that will whisk you directly to Fisherman’s Wharf. It is also conveniently close to the Powell Street Station of the Bay Area Rapid Transit system that provides quick access (about 15 minutes) to the San Francisco and Oakland International airports.
The hotel also offers a wide range of services to ensure that you enjoy the utmost in comfort and convenience. The hotel features a spa, health club, indoor pool and five on-site eateries and lounges along with an on-staff concierge and executive business center.
Hotel reservations for the conference should be made by contacting the San Francisco Marriott hotel directly at 415-896-1600. A block of rooms has been reserved at the following rates until July 25th, 2008 for the attendees of the 9th International Conference on Concrete Pavements:
Single/Double Occupancy: $209 per night, additional person $20. (Approved federal hotel rate is $152 per night for U.S. based government agency staff for the nights of August 16-20 only. Any additional nights will be charged the full Conference rate of $209 per night.) Room rates are subject to applicable sales and resort taxes, currently 14 percent plus $0.25 California Commerce Fee.

Subject to availability, you may reserve rooms at the Conference rates for the three days prior to Saturday, August 16, and three days after Wednesday, August 20. When making your reservations, let the reservation clerk know you are attending this conference. Reservations need to be made as soon as possible, as only a limited number of rooms have been reserved. You will need to secure your reservation with a credit card. Check-in time is after 4 PM and check-out time is before 12 noon. Guests arriving before check-in time will be accommodated as rooms become available. The Bell Captain can arrange to check baggage for those arriving early and for guests attending functions on their day of departure. Attendees will pay their own room, tax, and incidental charges upon check-out. American Express, MasterCard and VISA are accepted. A credit card is required to hold your room reservation.

Driving Directions
From the San Francisco Airport - SFO (1-650-821-8211)
- Hotel Direction: 13 mi SE
- Hwy 101 North to Hwy 80/Bay Bridge. Take the Fourth Street exit. Bear left on Bryant Street. Left on Third Street (one block). Left on Mission (four blocks). Right into the valet parking entrance (1/2 block). The hotel is at the corner of Mission and Fourth Street and across from the Metreon and Yerba Buena Gardens/Moscone Convention Center.
From the Oakland Airport - OAK (1-510-577-4000)
- Hotel Direction: 19 mi NW
- From points East, cross the Oakland Bay Bridge, exit Fremont Street and turn left on Mission Street. The hotel is at the corner of Fourth and Mission Streets.
Parking
- On-site parking is $11 USD per hour, or $50 USD daily.
- Valet parking is $50 USD daily with in and out privileges.
- Off Site Parking is available at the 5th & Mission Garage for $30 per day, however there are no “in-and-out” privileges, so if you want to store your car while you are at the conference, the 5th & Mission Garage would be less expensive. If you plan on using your car while you are at the conference, the Marriott’s Valet parking may be your best choice.

When traveling to the Bay Area, take the AirTrain Red Line from your domestic flight to BART, or walk to BART following the signs to the International terminal. Guests can access this station from any direction (OAK or SFO). Take a Dublin/Pleasanton-bound BART train. Exit the train at the Market/Powell station. All exits from the station will place you on Market Street, and the hotel entrance is on 4th Street, onehalf block down from the Market/Powell station.
