CHILE: ISCP Members & Directors in the “Pavement Committee” of ACCT

Following a successful seminar held in May 2015, the Chilean Association of Highway and Transportation (ACCT—AsociaciĂłn Chilena de Carreteras y Transporte), created the “Pavements Committee“. The ACCT is the national chapter of PIARC (The World Road Association) in Chile. Erwin Kohler, an ISCP Director, is the PIARC President of its Pavements Committee. Among the members of this committee are Juan Pablo Covarrubias Jr, who is also an ISCP Director, and Mauricio Salgado, an active member of ISCP, Chilean Institute for Cement and Concrete (ICH), Head of the Chilean National Road Laboratory-Contractors and Consultants.

The activities of the committee include:
• Advocating for specification improvements
• Assisting road officials in connecting internationally to receive and to deliver pavement-related information
• Representing the country before the World Road Association’s Pavement Committee

PIARC is The World Road Association, and was established in 1909. It brings together the road administrations of 122 governments and has members—individuals, companies, authorities and organizations in over 140 countries.
