However\, lift stations are very unique when compared to standard manhole applications. Lift stations typically are installed in a more severe condition than manholes with respect to size\, depth of installation and water table pressures\, subject to watertight conditions of infiltration and exfiltration\, and have the potential of highly corrosive effluent conditions. Additionally\, lift stations contain complex mechanical devices of pumps\, internal piping\, and electronic local or remote control panels for operation.
