ABSTRACTS DEADLINE EXTENDED to October 1, 2016 for the 10th ACI/RILEM ICCM2017

Former CANMET/ACI International Conference on Fly Ash, Silica Fume, Slag, Natural Pozzolans
and Alternative Supplementary Cementitious Materials in Concrete

ABSTRACT DEADLINE EXTENDED TO OCTOBER 1, 2016

In response to requests by many, the deadline has been extended to October 1, 2016 for the 10th ACI/RILEM International Conference on Cementitious Materials & Alternative Binders for Sustainable Concrete (10th ACI/RILEM ICCM2017) to be held October 2-4, 2017 at the Montreal Marriott Château Champlain, in Montreal, Canada. A block of rooms will be reserved at a special conference rate. The former Canadian Center for Mineral and Energy Technology (CANMET) of Natural Resources Canada has played a significant role in Canada for research on fly ashes, ferrous and non-ferrous slags, and silica fumes for use in concrete. In 1983, the 1st International Conference on Fly Ash, Silica Fume, Slag, Natural Pozzolans held in Montebello, Québec, CANADA. Since then, this conference has traveled the world, and the 9th conference was held in Warsaw, Poland in 2007.

The purpose of this international conference is to present the latest available scientific and technical information in the field of supplementary cementitious materials and novel binders for use in concrete. The new aspect of this edition is to highlight advances in the field of alternative and sustainable binders and supplementary cementitious materials, for which the research is growing in importance. Those in attendance will be engineers, architects, public works officials, risk managers, material suppliers, researchers, academics, students, contractors, and concrete industry professionals.

Original papers on all aspects of pozzolans, mineral admixtures, standard and alternative supplementary cementitious materials are invited to be presented at the conference and be published in the proceedings. The following are the key topics for papers:

  • Microstructure and hydration
  • Multi-component binder systems
  • Alternative supplementary cementitious materials
  • Alkali activated materials
  • Alternative binders
  • Nanomaterials
  • Chemical admixtures
  • Concrete mix designs for sustainable development
  • Rheology
  • Curing techniques
  • Mechanical performances and durability
  • Modeling of concrete properties
  • Life-cycle analysis
  • Service life
  • Standard and test method development
  • Case studies
  • Special concrete
  • Biosourced materials
  • Recycled materials

Conference proceedings will be published as an ACI and RILEM Special Publication (SP). Non-refereed papers will be published in supplementary papers proceeding. To submit a paper and for more information, please go to: http://iccm2017.evenement.usherbrooke.ca/#/.
