Worldwide, many publications on the issue of Life-Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) are available in different degrees of detailing. The same fundamental principles, and a widely accepted procedure used for conducting an LCCA, are in these publications. These principles and procedure are applicable for any type of asset.

The European Concrete Paving Association (EUPAVE)’s publication emphasizes its commitment to provide a general insight in the approach and good practice in conducting an LCCA. The degree of detailing of both the deterministic approach and the agency costs enables any professional to conduct an LCCA by applying the standard procedure of an LCCA as described in this publication, as well as by utilizing an excel spread sheet. For a more advanced application of the procedure that includes user costs and/or risk analysis, specific software is more appropriate or necessary and is available on the market—this Publication provides references to this specific software.

The Publication is structured as follows:

  1. Chapter 1. Scope
  2. Chapter 2. Introduction
  3. Chapter 3. LCCA Standard Procedure
  4. Chapter 4. Special Topics
  5. Chapter 5. Examples of LCCA
  6. Chapter 6. References
