7 ISCP Member Associations Made an Impactful Presence at World of Concrete 2020!!

World of Concrete 2020—the 45th edition, held February 3-7, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada, was a very successful and strong event for the concrete & masonry industries. This signature annual event drew approximately 54,000 registered professionals, packing the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center, and featured 1,310 companies (including 255 brand new companies) exhibiting across more than 700,000 net square feet of exhibit space. International presence was also robust with 237 companies from 29 countries outside the United States.

The Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program held its 15th annual unreserved silent and live auctions at World of Concrete 2020. The silent and live auctions broke all previous records bringing in more than $1.217 Million, with a total of over $12 Million to the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program in the past 15 years. The CIM program is a business program that has been developed specifically for the concrete industry to provide students with a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Concrete Industry Management. The program gives students entering the concrete work force industry experience early in their careers.

Jackie James, Group Director-World of Concrete, said: “This year has been a very successful event–the industry continues to evolve and grow stronger as we enter a new decade. The construction industry remains strong along with the economy and we cannot wait until WOC 2021 … new expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall … in this state-of-the-art facility.”

7 ISCP Association Members made an impactful presence!
ACI, ACPA, AZZ, IGGA, MEGASLAB, NPCA, and PCA!

American Concrete Institute (ACI) had 2 booths: Booth C4203 & Booth C4203a
Founded in 1904 and headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA, ACI is a leading authority and resource worldwide for the development, dissemination, and adoption of its consensus-based standards, technical resources, educational & training programs, certification programs, and proven expertise for individuals and organizations involved in concrete design, construction, and materials, who share a commitment to pursuing the best use of concrete. ACI has over 98 chapters, 146 student chapters, and nearly 30,000 members spanning over 120 countries.

American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA): Booth C4326:
ACPA is the national, professional trade organization of the concrete pavement industry. Along with affiliated Chapter/State Associations across the United States and Canada, ACPA provides support to contractors and key agencies engaged in highway, roadway, and airport construction, rehabilitation, and pavement restoration. Member companies include paving contractors, cement companies, equipment manufacturers, material suppliers, bonding and insurance companies, engineering consulting firms, and others allied with the surface-transportation construction industry. Founded in 1964, ACPA is recognized by public officials, engineers, contractors, and paving experts as the voice of the concrete paving industry. ACPA has been a proud cosponsor of World of Concrete since 1976.

AZZ GalvaBar™: Booth N2800
Continuously galvanized reinforcement that has the proven track record of hot-dip galvanizing and innovative processing improved by AZZ. Because GalvaBar will not crack, flake or peel during fabrication, it allows for a seamless supply of corrosion resistant reinforcement ready for fabrication and then straight to the job site. No special equipment is needed to fabricate. GalvaBar is durable and requires no special handling or protection from the elements at the job site; “on-the-ground” and readily available; performance in concrete for bond strength and slip resistance is superior to any other corrosion resistant reinforcement; can be processed in mill lengths up to 60’+; GalvaBar meets ASTM A1094/A1094M Standard Specification for Continuous Hot-dip Galvanized Steel Bars for Concrete Reinforcement.

The International Grooving & Grinding Association (IGGA): Booth C4328
The IGGA is a non-profit trade association founded in 1972 by a group of dedicated industry professionals committed to the development of the diamond grinding and grooving process for surfaces constructed with Portland cement concrete (PCC) and asphalt. IGGA‘s mission is to serve as the leading technical and promotional resource for the acceptance and proper use of diamond grinding and grooving as well as PCC preservation and restoration.

MEGASLAB™ at Booth O30970:
MEGASLAB™ is the Revolutionary Jointless Concrete Solution disrupting multiple concrete-dependent industries across the U.S. and worldwide, and is custom-designed and utilizes sophisticated nanotechnology paired with a proprietary blend of durable and flexible admixtures and sprays.
The result is an impermeable jointless slab with exceptional tensile strength and durability for the heaviest loads and equipment. Without the expense and challenges of control joints and rebar, major concrete projects can now pour the largest slabs available in the industry, greatly improving productivity not just for today, but for the future.

National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA): at Booth N620:
The National Precast Concrete Association is an international trade association representing more than 900 manufacturers and suppliers that produce hundreds of precast, prestressed and reinforced concrete pipe products for underground and above-ground applications. NPCA member companies manufacture products that create and rebuild infrastructure, protect the environment and offer modularity, customization and infinite creative design possibilities across all sectors of the construction industry. NPCA produces The Precast Show annually and provides members with the latest technical and industry information through precast.org, a suite of publications, educational seminars, product committees and conferences. A cornerstone of the association is the NPCA Plant Certification program, which is recognized in 43 states and is accredited by the American National Standards Institute.

Portland Cement Association (PCA): Booth C4227:
PCA was founded in 1916, and is the premier policy, research, education and market intelligence organization serving America’s cement manufacturers. PCA members have facilities in all 50 states, and represent 93% of the nation’s cement production. The cement and concrete industry collectively employs 535,000 people and contributes $100 billion each year to the nation’s economy. PCA promotes safety, sustainability, and innovation in all aspects of construction, fosters continuous improvement in cement manufacturing and distribution, and generally promotes economic growth and sound infrastructure investment.

For the second year in a row, ACPA, PCA, and IGGA exhibited TOGETHER. By doing so, the associations created a united and impactful presence at the concrete pavement community’s annual trade show and educational & training forum. Building on the success of last year’s 2019 show, the three associations’ restyled exhibit created a stronger impact and an inviting exhibit space designed to optimize interaction with World of Concrete visitors: They held another of their popular attractions … the trivia contest, which created a strong draw into the exhibit space, an opportunity to share a range of interesting information with show attendees about the many features and benefits of concrete and cement-based products and solutions. Participants also had the opportunity to win a daily drawing and a grand prize drawing, which built even more interest and participation. They even added some music trivia questions—adding entertainment and fun to the educational program!!
