“LCA2020” to be Held in California in June … Possible Postponement

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic: By April 3, 2020, the International Symposium on Pavement, Roadway, and Bridge Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) 2020” Committee will make a decision on whether to move forward with the original dates of June 3-6, 2020 or postpone. Monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely by listening carefully to advice given by federal, state, and local governments, public health authorities, and medical professionals, the Committee will notify all attendees and interested parties again once a decision is made.

The LCA2020“,planned be held June 3-6, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Sacramento, California, is hosted by the University of California Pavement Research Center (Davis/Berkeley) and National Center for Sustainable Transportation—unless notified of postponement by April 3, 2020. The Symposium is supported by several universities; university-seated transportation centers; the International Society for Concrete Pavements (ISCP); Transportation Research Board (TRB); International Grooving and Grinding Association (IGGA); Federal Highway Administration (FHWA); American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA); National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA); Southwest Concrete Pavement Association-ACPA; California/Nevada Cement Association-ACPA; and others. The goal of the symposium is to share and discuss recent advances in LCA for pavement, roadways, and bridges, and review and discuss the current status and future developments, standardization and implementation of pavement, roadway, and bridge life cycle assessment. The 2020 Conference focuses on the important and timely topic of life cycle assessment–the ‘cradle-to-grave’ determination of environmental impacts of a product’s life–and its role in pavement, roadway and bridge construction.

PROGRAM: The formal program is still being developed, but scheduled topics thus far include cement (and asphalt) industry perspectives; product category rules (PCRs) and environmental product declarations (EPDs)*; and other topics important to sustainability best practices. The program will include keynote speakers, plenary presentations, parallel podium sessions, poster sessions, panel sessions with group discussion, and social events:
