NRRA “2020 Call for Innovation”—Seeking New Project Proposals by May 1, 2020/”Pavement Workshop”: Postponed to Fall 2020, Date TBA

The National Roads Research Alliance (NRRA) Executive Committee is pleased to announce the “2020 Call for Innovation”. The NRRA has approximately $350,000 in unallocated funds to put towards new projects. The Executive Committee seeks proposals from associate members of innovative research ideas to use these available funds.

**In light of the COVID-19 situation, with travel and gatherings restricted for all of us and no end date clear, the NRRA Executive Committee announces important changes for the “Call for Innovation” and the “2020 Pavement Workshop”:
Postponed: “Call for Innovation” proposals due May 1, 2020 (originally due April 3)
Postponed: “2020 Pavement Workshop” postponed to FALL—to be held in Shoreview, Minnesota. As we move through the pandemic and gain understanding of how to move forward, a new FALL 2020 date will be determined and announced.

For consideration, proposals must demonstrate a possible impact to road design, construction, materials testing and maintenance with a potential for broad national impact. Eligibility is limited to current NRRA Members. The Program anticipates making multiple awards, subject to funding availability.

Requirements:

  1. Only NRRA Associate members can apply
  2. NRRA Associate members must contribute at least 20% of the funding for the projects
  3. The 20% match must be itemized and documented in the proposal
  4. The maximum NRRA contribution for each project is $100,000
  5. The proposal will not exceed 10 pages including all attachments

Proposals not following all the requirements will be rejected.

• Ease of implementation
• Study team members participation
• Documentation of findings / impact made
• Proof of concept
