ISCP Board Members Announced!

The membership of ISCP elected the following 7 members to serve on the Board of Directors for a four-year term. ISCP gratefully thanks its members for participating in this election and for continued support of its mission to further engineering and technical knowledge related to concrete pavements through education, technology transfer, scientific investigation, and research in all areas related to the analysis, design, construction, materials, maintenance, sustainability, resilience, rehabilitation, and management at an international level.

ISCP was first conceived nearly 24 years ago in 1997.
November 1997
ISCP first conceived following the 6th Purdue Conference—now called the International Conference on Concrete Pavements (ICCP)—Held every 4 years.
The 1st organizational meeting was 2 months later in January 1998.
January 1998
1st Organizational Meeting held during Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. In attendance were Dr. Ernest J. Barenberg, University of Illinois-Urbana (USA) and Dr. Shiraz D. Tayabji, Construction Technology Laboratories, Inc.-Maryland (USA) who, ultimately spearheaded the Society.
Steering committee was formed
January 1999
2nd Organizational Meeting held during TRB Annual Meeting
• Officers and Directors were nominated to serve for a 1-year term:
President: Dr. Ernest J. Barenberg, University of Illinois-Urbana (USA)
Secretary: Dr. Shiraz D. Tayabji, Construction Technology Laboratories, Inc.-Maryland (USA)
Directors: Representatives from government agencies, academia, contractors, and consulting engineers

May 1999
Society was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation by Dr. Shiraz D. Tayabji (in Maryland, USA)
• Draft constitution was created
• By-laws were reviewed
October 27, 1999
Meeting of the ISCP Board of Directors, during which, the Board:
• Adopted the Constitution
• Adopted the By-Laws
• Nominated Officers for the next term (which began January 2000)—balloted to members December 1999
• Approved the planning for the 7th International Conference on Concrete Pavements (ICCP) to carry on the tradition of the Purdue Conferences (tentatively for September 2001 in Orlando, Florida)
• Appointed 3 Committees:
—Conference Steering
—Membership and Fund
—Financial Oversight
• Discussions included:
—Establishment of website
—Permanent Secretariat
—Formal forum for international networking on concrete pavement issues
—Magazine/journal
