NEW Concrete Pavements Design Guide: Construction, Maintenance, Preservation, Sustainability, Resilience + Oct. WEBINAR!

The Florida Rigid Pavement Streets & Local Roads Design Guide was recently developed and released by the Florida Concrete and Products Association-American Concrete Pavement Association (FC&PA-ACPA). This guide was created to assist local municipalities and counties with the design, construction, maintenance, and preservation of concrete pavements. It features the PavementDesigner.org tool and provides guidance on performing a proper analysis for low-volume pavements. Additional sections cover jointing considerations for concrete pavements as well as sustainability and resilience concepts, before providing examples from Florida and additional resources.

This guide is to provide support to local municipalities and counties in rigid pavement design, construction, and maintenance for lower traffic volume streets and local roads. This guide offers a compilation of industry software and documents to help practitioners understand concrete pavement design, construction, and overall best practice for streets and local roads.

Amy Wedel, Director, Concrete Pavements-Florida Concrete and Products Association (FC&PA) developed the guide with input and participation from an industry team including Eric Ferrebee, Director of Technical Services-ACPA. Eric noted, “…this guide will greatly help the development and promotion of concrete pavements for municipalities. This Design Guide fulfills Florida DOT’s Green Book’s opportunity for industry-developed design methods to be utilized for these types of facilities.”
