ISCP held its long-awaited 12th International Conference on Concrete Pavements (12th ICCP 2021) the week of September 27 through October 1 in a virtual setting using The Aggregate “online venue” platform. This conference featured 96 technical presentations, 10 half-day workshops, and The Student Pitch on a variety of concrete pavement topics. This virtual campus was selected to promote networking opportunities as well as its tech transfer capabilities for attendees. In addition, the online format of the conference allowed participation from a record number of attendees across the globe with 698 registrants representing 31 countries. Through the many iterations of the 12th ICCP 2021, our PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), National Road Research Alliance (NRRA), Australian Society for Concrete Pavements (ASCP), Transportation Research Board (TRB), and European Concrete Paving Association (EUPAVE)—were engaged in helping us organize and promote these tech transfer opportunities as well. We look forward to their continued partnership in future endeavors.

With all of the unexpected changes and challenges this conference brought, we are so very thankful for ALL of the participants in the 12th conference—authors, speakers, moderators, the conference planning committee, and the delegates! Without the participation of all of the many individuals, this series of concrete pavement conferences would not have carried through the last 20 years (44 years total), developing the reputation as the premier event for concrete pavement tech transfer in the world!

Since 1977, the ICCPs have been held every 4 years, beginning with Perdue University hosting the 1st ICCP in 1977 through the 6th ICCP in 1997. When ISCP was launched and incorporated in 1999, the first Board of Directors’ meeting began planning the 7th ICCP for September of 2001 in Orlando, Florida. ISCP has been the host ever since! The planning of the 12th ICCP 2020 was unprecedented—made decision to postpone a year to become “12th ICCP 2021” and ultimately 100% Virtual! The 13th ICCP will remain on the correct 4-year schedule slated for 2024! (See below)

Please go to the 12th ICCP 2021 Webpage in early October for videos of technical podium sessions and workshop sessions, as they are uploaded to an outside host. For the full conference PROCEEDINGS of the 1st through the 11th ICCPs; past USA Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Advanced Concrete Pavement Technology (ACPT); and Concrete Pavement Technology Program (CPTP) Conferences, please go to: https://12thiccp.concretepavements.org/past-conferences/. Please note that proceedings from the 12th International Symposiums on Concrete Roads are available from the European Concrete Paving Association (EUPAVE) upon request.

ISCP will be hosting the:
