As announced previously, the 14thISCR
has been postponed to June 25-29, 2023

* Including sessions on the European’s Green Deal, circular economy, economic aspects… and special sessions on concrete block paving and base layers.

Worldwide Covid circumstances are improving, but there is still reluctancy to travel. After close consultation with the Polish Cement Association—the organizer of the 14th International Symposium Concrete Roads Conference (14ISCR 2022)—the symposium has been postponed to June 25-29, 2023. It is now “14thISCR 2023″ or “14th Concrete Roads 2023 Krakow” to be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Krakow Hotel & Convention Center in Krakow, Poland.

Extra time has now been given two times for preparation—June 17, 2021, February 15, 2022 and now April 10, 2022—which gives the chance for more authors to submit their abstracts, and eases many worries about travel during this unprecedented time. Anyone interested is invited to submit an abstract – around 300 words, written in English – related to the themes listed below:

• 1. Concrete roads and the green deal (CO₂ reduction – LCA – new binders – albedo – fuel consumption – energy – air and water quality)
• 2. Concrete roads and the circular economy (Circular concepts – recycling – cradle to cradle)
• 3. Concrete roads and economic aspects (LCCA – tendering procedures – price stability – competition)
• 4. Concrete roads and society (Driving comfort – noise – safety – skid resistance – safety barriers)
• 5. Innovative concepts for concrete roads (Big data – BIM – ITS – sensors – energy harvesting roads – electric roads)
• 6. Materials and pavement design (Materials, cement/concrete for various paving applications, concrete road materials for a minimum carbon footprint)
  7. Highways (Motorways – expressways – CRCP and JPCP – overlays)
• 8. High axle-load areas (Truck parking area – airport pavements – industrial pavements)
• 9. Urban applications (Urban roads and streets – intersections and roundabouts – pedestrian pavements – cycling paths – decorative concrete)
• 10. Maintenance and preservation strategies and techniques (Preservation – repair – maintenance – surface treatments – structural capacity assessment and instrumentation – surface characteristics)
• 11. Case studies (General reports on project applications)
  S-1. Baselayers (Hydraulically bound base layers – soil stabilization – in‑situ pavement recycling)
• S-2. Concrete block paving (Concrete paving blocks – tiles – slabs – removable pavements)

The participant has to fill in the abstract submission form by April 10, 2022 at the latest.

For authors who have submitted their abstracts:
Before June 17, 2021: you will soon receive your acceptance letter with comments made by the International Technical Program Committee together with the paper guidelines. 
After June 17, 2021: your abstract will be reviewed during the second session.

The International Technical Program Committee (ITPC) is composed of 30 members from 15 different countries including International Society of Concrete Pavements (ISCP), American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA), European Concrete Pavement Association (EUPAVE), World Road Association (PIARC), and invited experts. The ITPC will organize technical aspects of the symposium, and review abstracts.
