ACPA Foundation Announces Funding for Research and Educational Programs

The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) Foundation is seeking proposals for research and educational programs that align with its mission to promote the longevity, innovation, and sustainability of the concrete pavement industry. The foundation is offering to fund proposals up to $25,000 to support initiatives that benefit both the concrete paving industry and the general public. These programs should focus on key areas to help advance the field and ensure its continued growth.

The Foundation’s focus areas for research projects include material economics, emerging technologies, and infrastructure resilience. Similarly, educational programs should center on these same topics, along with leadership development. The organization has established clear guidelines for proposals, noting that it will not fund proprietary research, direct advocacy, or programs that duplicate existing efforts. Projects must also have a broad scope with regional or national applicability, and the foundation looks favorably upon partnerships with other entities and potential funding sources.

Proposals for specific, applied research and education programs are encouraged. They will be reviewed by the ACPA Foundation Board of Directors on a bi-annual basis, with full proposals accepted by invitation only after an initial conceptual review. Proposals will be evaluated based on a comprehensive set of criteria, including the relevance and importance of the topic, the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, cost-effectiveness, and the qualifications of the project personnel. The foundation also requires that the outcomes be measurable and that there is a plan for broad dissemination of the findings.
