The Eldon J. Yoder Outstanding Paper Award selected at the 13th International Conference on Concrete Pavements (ICCP) was presented at the 8th Australian Society for Concrete Pavements Conference in Sidney, Australia.
Named in honor of Eldon J. Yoder, a renowned figure in pavement engineering, this award recognizes a paper that demonstrates excellence in research, originality, and practical significance in the field of pavement technology.
The award-winning paper titled “A Deep-Learning Model to Estimate Rigid Pavement Stresses for Top-Down Cracking Airfield Pavement Design” introduces a cutting-edge deep-learning model designed to estimate stresses in rigid pavements, specifically targeting the challenges of top-down cracking in airfield pavement design. Authors are Ali Ashtiani, PhD., PE, Adam Amos-Binks, Aaron Williams, Timothy Parsons, from ARA and David R. Brill from the Federal Aviation Administration
