Iowa State University (ISU)
Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (CCEE)
Program Description
The CCEEĀ Department at Iowa State University promotes intellectual,Ā social, and ethical development of civil and construction engineers. CCEE also creates and communicates engineeringĀ concepts and technology.
Facilities
- PCC Pavement and Materials Research Laboratory: The lab helps researchersĀ discover solutions to challengesĀ faced by the concrete paving community and offers students opportunities for handsāon research experience.
- Mobile Concrete Research Lab: The labās research helps transportation agencies better understand concreteĀ material properties and interactions and improve qualityācontrol testing during construction.
- Geotechnical Mobile Lab: The lab helps ensure projects are built with specifications and processes that allow theĀ contractor maximum efficiency and creativity. It also helps engineers use acceptance criteria that ensureĀ responsible use of public funds, as well as help maximize value by increasing the performance life of roadways.
- Materials Analysis Research Lab: MARL focuses on research and development, teaching, and service. Its facilitiesĀ are used for chemical/physical characterization of a variety of materials to support research and teaching.
