Sushobhan Sen

Co-Director of Communications

Dr. Sushobhan Sen, Ph.D., earned his B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India, in 2013, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015 and 2019 respectively. His graduate research was performed under the supervision of Prof. Jeffery Roesler. He worked as a postdoctoral associate in Civil Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, under the supervision of Dr. Lev Khazanovich. He is currently an assistant professor in Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN), Gandhinagar, India.

His research interests are broadly in computational analysis and High-Performance Computing (HPC) of systems related to pavements, including fracture mechanics-based Finite Element modeling of concrete pavements, linear viscoelastic modeling of asphalt pavements, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling of the stratified atmospheric boundary layer-pavement system in urban environments. He has authored several inter-disciplinary publications in both traditional pavement engineering-related topics as well as sustainability and climate-related topics. He is an active member of the TRB Sustainable and Resilient Pavements Subcommittee.

As Co-Director of Communications at ISCP, Dr. Sen manages the society’s website.
