With one month to go until the Australian Concrete Pavements Association (ASCP) 2015 Concrete Pavements Conference on Monday and Tuesday, July 20-21, 2015 at the Breakfree Aanuka Beach Resort in Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia, ASCP is delighted to announce details of two Monday Keynote Presentations:

Monday morning, Bob Higgins, General Manager, Pacific Highway, Roads and Maritime Services NSW will present “Pacific Highway – Where we’ve come from and where we are going”.  The Australian and NSW governments have been jointly upgrading the Pacific Highway to provide a four-lane divided road from Hexham to the Queensland border. Upgrading started in 1996, with 2020 identified as the targeted completion date. Bob will discuss what has been upgraded and is being constructed; what is currently in the development phase; and what will be designed and constructed between now and 2020.

Monday afternoon, Peter Wellings, Major Projects Executive, WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff and Deputy Project Director, Pacific Complete, will present “Woolgoolga to Ballina – A new delivery method”.  The Pacific Complete consortium, comprising Laing O’Rourke and Parsons Brinckerhoff, has been appointed the Delivery Partner for the upgrade of 155 kilometres of the Pacific Highway from Woolgoolga to Ballina. This is the first project in Australia to be executed under the Delivery Partner model, as used for the London Olympics infrastructure.  Peter will outline the project and the delivery method.
