ISCP Annual Open Membership & Board Meeting Held Jan 6 in Washington, DC

On January 6, 2018, the International Society for Concrete Pavements (ISCP) held its annual open membership and board meeting at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, USA, prior to the 97th Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting Held January 7-11, 2018.

Highlights of the meeting included the following:

Jeff Roesler, ISCP President, reviewed the past year’s successes including the joint webinar series with the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA). He also reviewed the 12th International Conference on Concrete Pavements 2020 (12th ICCP 2020) progress and by-law revisions passed by the Board in Fall 2017. Roesler also noted goals for 2018 which include appointing a Director of Communications and promoting a more active committee structure as outlined in the new by-laws. This includes appointing new committee chairs for the Technology Transfer and Membership Committees.

A review of 2017 and a proposed 2018 budget was presented by Jeff Roesler and Jake Hiller, ISCP Secretary-Treasurer. Revenues from membership dues were significantly below targeted projections. However, the Society’s balance is in excellent shape due to a fiscally conservative approach to expenditures this past year.

Jake Hiller, also Chair of the 12th ICCP, noted that the conference location for the 12th ICCP 2020 will be in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, and reviewed the selection process.

Discussions regarding potential regional seminars and workshops were discussed for St. Louis, Missouri (2018) and the state of Florida (2019) as well.
