The International Society for Concrete Pavements (ISCP) works very closely with the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) and the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center (CP Tech Center). They have announced that Leif Wathne, P.E., Executive Vice President-ACPA, will be transitioning to the new role of Associate Director-CP Tech Center, effective June 13, 2022.
He will be responsible for:
• Nurturing CP Tech Center engagement with the concrete pavement construction industry
• Helping manage activities under current federal cooperative agreements
• Assisting in the development and communication of best practice guidance products
Both ACPA and the CP Tech Center believe this transition will only strengthen the long-term partnership and 16-year collaborative effort between the two organizations. Laura O’Neill Kaumo, President & CEO-ACPA, stated, “Leif has been with ACPA for 17 years, and will continue to help deliver the message that concrete pavements are the best option to meet today’s need for resilient, sustainable infrastructure solutions. As long-time partners of the CP Tech Center, all at ACPA are excited to continue our collaboration Leif’s transition to their staff.”
During his ACPA tenure, Leif:
• Credited with advancing concrete pavement innovations and technology through the development of best practice guidance, specifications, and technical publications as well as by nurturing strategic partnerships
• Served as a technical resource and industry spokesperson for transportation agencies on concrete pavement matters
• “… has been an integral part of ACPA’s market growth, service to the membership, and we are excited that his new role with the CP Tech Center only furthers this work as well as the partnership between the two organizations.”—Ed Griffith, Chairman-ACPA Board of DirectorsDr.
