Last week, ISCP held an engaging board and opening meeting during the 105th Annual Meeting of the TRB. Led by ISCP President Armen Amirkhanian, the ISCP board welcomed members to discuss recent society updates, new action items, and share member activities. Researchers, industry experts, and government leaders participated in person and via Teams call. This gave the opportunity for robust engagement from both local and international members of ISCP.
The meeting began with a period of remembrance for previous ISCP President and dear friend, Dr. Jacob Hiller, who sadly passed away this past year. Participants shared fond memories of Dr. Hiller’s kindness, enthusiastic spirit, and dedication to the society. Attendees then held a moment of silence to commemorate Dr. Hiller. Readers are encouraged to read the memoriam page for Dr. Hiller: https://www.concretepavements.org/2025/07/18/in-memoriam-dr-jacob-e-hiller-president-of-iscp/
The meeting then continued through the sharing of updates and action items for the committee. President Amirkhanian led discussion into society business, which includes initial coordination for the future ISCP conference to be held in 2028, plans for revisions to the ISCP website, and coordination efforts with other concrete pavement societies. Members contributed ideas into future society initiatives that can better help ISCP serve its members and the broader concrete pavement community. Before closing the meeting, the floor was opened so that participants should advertise upcoming events, workshops, and conferences that may be of interest.
The meeting minutes will be approved and circulated in the upcoming weeks. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
